Chandler is a victim of our economy. His home was foreclosed, his
family forced to move, and instead of taking him with them, they left
him locked inside, with a small amount of food and water. After several
days of hearing his cries for help, neighbors broke in to the house, to
save Chandler, and give him food and water. Afterwards, they continued to feed him, however, his life was delegated to a yard that he continuously got out of; probably looking for his family that abandoned him. As you can see from the photos, Chandler didn't have a great life, even when his family was with him. He was constantly tied up outside, left for days at a time, and his coat and skin suffered for it. The tether he was attached to, tightened around his neck, wearing down the hair and causing a rash and skin burns. These photos were taken after his matted, filthy coat was shaved off. There was no other way to properly groom him. Interestingly, after we rescued this wonderful Scottie, all of his fears went away, and he has become a true Scot! No more worries about where his next meal will come from and no concerns for fresh water. His medical needs have now been met, and he is ready to find his new home. After just a few short weeks of high quality food, and liquid vitamins, Chandler's coat is returning to all its' glory! Come visit this wonderful Scottie boy, and consider giving him a life-long home that he can call his own! All dogs adopted by Scottie Kingdom Rescue, Inc. have had a full medical exam by one of our licensed Veterinarians, and have received all necessary vaccinations, in addition to being spayed/neutered and microchipped. Copies of all available medical records are transferred to you when the adoption is finalized. Because we want to assure you of the health of our adoptable pets, we include a pre-paid 30 day pet health and accident insurance policy, at no cost to you. Scottie Kingdom Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3 Non Profit Organization. We prefer to adopt to families with past Scottie, Westie and/or Terrier experience, but realize this isn’t always possible. We do not ship our pets. If you have that special place in your heart, and in your home, for a Scottie (or any of our other available Rescue Dogs), please be prepared to visit us in Dallas for an in person meet & greet session with our Available Dogs. If you have existing dogs, they must travel to Dallas with you, so we can be assured that they will be compatible with the new addition to your family. Please contact us at Rescue@scottiekingdom.com to receive an Adoption Application or for more information on our Adoption process. Also, please take the time to visit our website www.scottiekingdom.com for further information. We sometimes receive several applications on the same dog. Our goal is to place the dog in the best home possible, based on his/her needs, personality and past history. Please note: Adoptions are not done on a first come, first served basis. Submitting an application does not guarantee the adoption of any dog. We are looking for the best available home for each of our rescue dogs. Thank you for your understanding, and for considering adoption!
