~ Storm ~
10yo Storm found himself in a drainage ditch, just 15 miles from the severe weather and tornadoes that struck Moore, Oklahoma recently.
When found, it was obvious he had suffered years of neglect which led to Storm losing his sight.
Today, Friday, June 7th, Storm is receiving the medical care he deserves to ease the pain he has endured due to severe eye issues.
Please read Storm's story and receive updates by visiting his bio page in the "Available for Adoption" section, above.
If you are able to help with Storm's medical costs, please click on the Donate button so we can continue to help Storm and other dogs like him.
~ Sophie & Maggie ~
Sophie & Maggie have just been surrendered to us after losing their human mom. In their 5-1/2 years of life, they have never missed a vet appointment,
never missed a vaccination, have always been on heartworm prevention and Sophie's special needs were always addressed.
Sophie is diabetic and currently requires insulin injections two times per day. The quick process does not bother her in the slightest, as she realizes she is being helped.
When you meet these two girls, you will quickly see how bonded they are, after all, they have been together all of their lives.
If you have experience with canine diabetes, or are willing to learn, you will never find a sweeter pair of young ladies to join your life!
~ Parker ~
Parker is a very handsome 9yo heavily brindled Scottie boy. He has been diagnosed with Masticatory Muscle Myositis (MMM) and dry eye.
In the simplest of terms, Parker's immune system recognizes certain proteins in the jaw muscles as foreign, and attacks them.
Parker has quite a bit of degeneration of the jaw muscle on one side, yet he has no problem eating, nor is he in pain.
He will remain in our care, receiving any necessary medical treatment, unless an experienced family would like to adopt him and take over his medical needs.
~ Paden ~
Paden was recently surrendered to us after the death of his human dad.
He was overweight and displayed signs of Cushing's Disease. But as we worked to help him lose his excess weight, tests confirmed Paden was not suffering from Cushing's.
Medication was started to help his liver functions, and while they were working, we feared something else was occurring.
More blood tests and an ultra-sound has revealed Paden is suffering from liver cancer.
While he is not currently in any pain, Paden requires daily medication to help support his liver functions.
We realize there is no "cure" for Paden, however, we want to give him his last days/weeks/months as he stays at one of our foster homes, being well cared for.
He is a "jaunty" Scot, 12 years of age, and deserves to be pampered!

We try very hard not to have to ask for your help very often,
but on occasion, the costs of saving a life are too high for us to bear alone.
Please consider donating to our special needs dogs, our senior dogs, and dogs that are shown above as needing your help.
In many instances, the care they receive can save their life.
Become a part of it.
